I was overruled by the simplicity of the moment,
When ten people met on a Friday evening,
Ready to let loose, ready to be furious, ready to despise
their own simplicity.
So we gathered around the table of justice
When I was silenced on that Friday evening
by somebody’s tongue, by somebody’s fury, by somebody’s fear
of not succeeding.
And I should’ve said no, I should’ve said I’m sorry,
I should’ve said if there’s one thing in this universe
that I loathe more than lies and false modesty,
It’s being silenced when apologising to the world and everyone in it.
